Custom M1 Helmet Liner (1941-1945)

I got this from a guy at a flea market when i was about 10 because it was 10 bucks and I thought it looked cool. Apparently the guy painted it himself and shaved the front off for spelunking. It's not historical but is technically a part of my helmet collection so I'm putting it here. The liner could be from any time between 1941 and 1945 because of the grommet in the front of the helmet. It's marked with a firestone stamp meaning that it was made by Firestone Tires during World War Two which is a shame because they're a very rare and desirable liner manufacturer.

Noteworthy details: Custom flame paintjob, front bill has been shaved down, chinstrap has been replaced, marked by Firestone.
